When it all began

Lampstand Ministries was founded as a ministry to the needy in the inner city of chicago in july of 1997. It had become necessary at that time to receive official status so that Chris Langkamp could receive the support off a board of directors and could give financial supporters receipts for there donations. Chris continued his full time job as a garbage man and devoted his nights and weekends to the ministry.

As the ministry grew it became evident that Chris would need to give Lampstand Ministires his full time attention in order to manage that growth. Thanks to the support of many generous friends the Langkamps became the first full time employees of Lampstand Ministries in December of 2000.

As we look forward to the future we are excited to see how God will continue to expand the impact of Lampstand Ministries.
